Blackfish / Tog

Starting in November this type of fishing will put some hair on your chest, or make you pull it out of your head. Blackfish are quite lucrative and are known to steal bait undetected at some times. Using green crabs or white leggers, we double anchor to keep still on our numbers that hold these white chins. As always, rigs and lead are always plentifully stocked and a enclosed heated cabin to warm up. Practice makes perfect and keep that weight still on the bottom, you can never go to heavy with the lead. Watching your buddies laser focus then swing for the fences makes for a good laugh as well, so bust out the layered clothing and join us for some of the most respected fishing we offer.

We are prepared for combination of anything that is biting alongside another species. Trips are not one type specific, we are no strangers to accommodation and adaptability.

Belmar Summer Flounder Fishing / Fluke

Another Jersey fan favorite drifting lumps and craggy bottom. Fluke fishing has been transformed from dragging squid and killies to elaborate jigs and teasers of all colors and styles. We stay on the cutting edge with jigging styles and presentation.

Bring your favorite assortment of jigs from 3-8 ounce, braided line works best for feeling subtle bites. Fluke tend to come back or chase a bait for a while so be patient. Custom jigs from 5-8 ounce are available for purchase at a buck an ounce but for a full day bring plenty of spares. Remember, lift slow until he's hanging then give 'em the steel!

Belmar Sea Bass / Ling Fishing

This is a fast paced no nonsense type of fishing that provides fun for all ages and skill levels, beginner to fishaholic. The coast of NJ is host to hundreds of "pieces" or wrecks and rock piles that provide a home and habitat for these aggressive tasty fish. Given the equipment onboard we can position over a large pile or something the size of a toilet bowl. Clams, Asian crabs or gulp produce the best on HI/LO rigs. These fish aren't picky with technique as long as you can hold bottom. Plenty of lead and rigs are kept on board for re rigging break offs if you snag some real estate. Porgies and triggerfish are a fun by-catch later on in the season and all of this is targeted by either anchoring or drifting when the conditions are calm enough. Find a good ceviche or fish taco recipe and hop aboard.

Belmar Striped Bass Fishing

As spring begins to stretch it's legs, Stripers are stretching their fins. Migrating north from the Carolina's where they spent winter we are lucky to be located right in their path. Beginning in April we start to see some schoolie size fish show up that go after smaller bait such as jigs, poppers and fresh shucked local clams. We will either anchor and chum with clams, troll or drift with jigs providing there is life on the sounder. By the month of May is when the action gets hot and heavy. Huge pods of bunker arrive and right behind them are the lunker stripers. Whether snagging or collecting with a 20' cast net to fill the live well, these bunker are like cow candy. When bunker pods become skiddish we will troll maja spoons to get the rods buckled over. Stripers are targeted again starting late October feeding on jigs and eels. Striped bass is one of the most sought after inshore game fish for their size, fight and excellent meat quality. All catch is bled and iced down in the boats cooler. Don't forget your bonus tags!
